About me

Black and white portrait of Emily Gould, Edinburgh based photographer for weddings, engagement shoots and more, working across film, digital and Super 8mm formats.

My name is Emily, I was born in Australia and currently live in Edinburgh with my husband, Angus. We love spending time in rugged Scottish landscapes, travelling from old cities to sleepy villages, finding the best coffee (and pastries) in town, and being active through sport and outdoor activities.

Photography has always been an artistic outlet for me when I’m busy moving through daily life. I started shooting film as a teenager and am always drawn back to its vibrant colors and dynamic range. Film is inherently timeless and I love that it’s able to evoke a sense of immediate nostalgia.

I aim to capture photos that are expressive and cinematic and would describe my photography style as ‘documentary with an editorial lens.’ My work is heavily influenced by the natural landscape, seasonality, and my appetite for art and design. When I’m photographing, I look for those in-between moments of people interacting with each other and their environment.

My books are open for 2026 with introductory rates currently available. If you are looking for someone to capture your wedding/engagement/portraits in an artistic and relaxed way that reflects you authentically, I’d love to hear from you! While I’m based in Edinburgh I am very happy to travel.
